Meet Julie...

Meet Julie, the proprietor of Cheshire Brides.

"My passion has been dressmaking for as long as I can remember. At the age of eight I had my first sewing machine and by the age of sixteen I was sewing for a living in the textile factories in Cheshire. I was always making my own clothes, and people have come to me for years to ask me to make them various dresses or to carry out alterations to their clothes.

In the late 80's I decided to go in to business on my own; I knew that I had the passion and the skill required to make practically any piece of clothing. I built up a client base of people who just kept coming back to me; they wanted dresses, tops, jackets…… and then I stumbled into the Wedding Gown business when I was asked to alter a Gown, and the rest is history.

A few years later I was approached by the then owner of Cheshire Brides to see if I would handle all of their Bridal alterations, and soon I was working for a number Bridal shops in Cheshire carrying out alterations to the Gowns that they supplied.

My own bespoke dressmaking label is called Michelle Rose, and for a long time now I have been sewing my own label into evening dresses, prom dresses and, more recently, my own collection of Bridal Gowns, Bridesmaids’ dresses and Mother of the Bride outfits.

In 2004 I bought Cheshire Brides. I am not the stereotyped business woman, I am a very experienced hands-on dressmaker with a passion to see my clients looking fabulous in the dresses that I make and sell today.

Julie is also on hand to give you any wedding advice you might need and is sincere and honest in her approach to finding your gown.
